During a visit to Erewash, Skills Minister Nick Boles accompanied prospective MP Maggie Throup on a visit to Wilsthorpe School to see for himself ways in which recently announced funding for repairs and refurbishment will be of great benefit to its students.
Maggie Throup said: “Just a few weeks ago I was delighted to learn that Wilsthorpe Community School is to receive Government funding to improve its school buildings. The Government’s priority school building programme targets schools in most need of repair. This money will be used to ensure that Wilsthorpe Community School has the facilities to deliver the best education, so that pupils can fulfill their potential and get on in life.
Skills Minister Nick Boles added: “I was delighted to visit Wilsthorpe School with Maggie Throup and be shown the areas where improvement to the buildings is most urgently needed. I will do everything in my power to ensure that the government’s recent welcome decision to invest in replacing some of the school’s buildings is spent in a way that will make the most positive impact on the learning experience for students.”
