Schools Minister Nick Gibb, along with Prospective MP Maggie Throup paid a visit to English Martyrs' Catholic Primary School in Long Eaton, part of the Saint Robert Lawrence Catholic Academy Trust and a feeder school to Saint John Houghton Catholic Voluntary Academy in Ilkeston.
Maggie Throup said: “It was great to meet pupils in every year group, seeing how their learning progressed from Reception to getting ready to move to secondary school. There was a very positive ‘can-do’ attitude expressed by teachers and pupils alike.”
Nick Gibb added: "English Martyrs' Catholic Primary is a school with a real focus on high academic standards - in reading, in maths, and in the general knowledge subjects of history and geography. The behaviour of the pupils was exemplary - a model primary school."
