Bob Whitmore Chairman of the Derbyshire Blood Bikes and his wife Julie, were the guest speakers at the October meeting of the Erewash Dining Club held on 7th October at the Seven Oaks Inn and Restaurant, Lowes Lane, Stanton By Dale, Ilkeston.
They gave a talk on the excellent work of the members who provide a FREE medical courier service to the NHS facilities in Derbyshire. Volunteers use a fleet of charity-owned motorcycles and cars to transport blood products, samples, medication and equipment to wherever the NHS need, anytime of day or night, whatever the weather. Their aim is simple……. SAVE THE NHS MONEY AND HELP SAVE LIVES. The Chairman of the Erewash Dining Club Barry Travers, who meet on a regular basis during the Winter for a meal and talk at the Seven Oakes Restaurant, thanked them not only for an informative and sometimes `amusing` talk but the` unsung` excellent work this charity does in the County.
