Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal had the immense pleasure of jointly hosting with the Mayor of Erewash, the School Council from Dovedale Primary School and Chinese School Children from Nan Men Primary School from HeFei City, in the An Hui Province of China to Long Eaton town hall on Wednesday 3rd July.

There were around 30 children from Dovedale Primary School accompanied by their teachers, there were also a further 30 school children and their teachers from China. The school council from Dovedale School held their school council in the council chamber at the town hall.

Lots of questions were asked of the Mayor from very inquisitive children, some will be future councillors for sure. I am led to understand that school children from Dovedale Primary School will also visit China next year to follow up on this visit.
