Erewash Borough Council will offer 24-hour FREE parking in all its car parks over the busiest three weeks of the festive season.
The council confirmed this week that its car parks will be free from Monday 16 December to Friday 3 January inclusive to give a major boost to both traders and shoppers in the borough during the run-up to Christmas and over the festive and New Year break.
Councillor Barbara Harrison, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Environment, says:
“We know this good news will be warmly welcomed and offering 24-hour free parking is a further demonstration of our commitment to the on-going drive to help and support our town centres. We have excellent markets and shops in Ilkeston and Long Eaton – and in villages across the borough – so we hope residents will shop locally, while visitors will also be attracted to the borough to do their Christmas shopping."
All of the council’s car parks are part of the scheme, with the exception of the Long Eaton Railway Station commuters’ car park.
