Erewash MP Jessica Lee recently visited the Happivale Social Centre in Long Eaton, where she took part in Fun Day aimed at raising funds for the centre.

The Club, which meets on Monday and Friday evening’s, runs a full programme of activities for those adults in Erewash with physical or learning difficulties.

Whilst at the event she met with the Club’s Chairman, Elaine Bird, as well as a number of the group’s members and volunteers.

Following the visit, Miss Lee said:

“The Happivale Centre, which has operated in Erewash for over 48 years, is a fantastic asset to have here in Erewash.

I would like to pay tribute to the Long Eaton and District Mencap Society, whose dedicated volunteers ensure that these social activates continue to run for the benefit of the disabled community in Erewash.
