A group of Derbyshire MP’s, including Erewash MP Jessica Lee, have today welcomed representatives from the region’s food and drinks sector to Parliament, to take part in Derbyshire Day 2013.
The all day event, which took place in the Palace’s historic Jubilee Room, was attended by senior politicians including the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Commenting on the event, Miss Lee said:
“Today has been a fantastic opportunity to showcase the best of Derbyshire and the diverse range of produce we have to offer.
I was really pleased to see both the Prime Minister and Chancellor supporting the initiative and tasting some fantastic Derbyshire produce, including Bluebells ice cream and cake made by Ilkeston based Can’t Resist Cakes.
I would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make the day such a success.”
